Our journey really started with a softball game. When a group of alumni who had attended and worked at the same day camp reconnected using online social media, it evolved into a reunion softball game. The softball game was a blast, and it got us thinking. What kind of impact could our alumni have on preserving the legacies of the past while guaranteeing the vitality of the camp in the present and the future? And what role could online social media have in perpetuating the feeling from that one softball game?
So five friends and co-workers from one camp combined their skills and contacts to bring even more alumni together, and MyColorWar.com was born! If you think that Color War is fun during the summer, wait until your alumni and current campers get on MyColorWar! It is a great way for your entire camp family to stay involved and communicate with each other throughout the off-season. Once we got our Alumni site up and running, alumni and staff have had a lot of fun using the easy to navigate site: adding pages, editing pages, uploading pictures and reminiscing about their years at our camp.MCW was developed by a handful of dedicated directors who understand what camp is all about.
